Thanks for the superb comments and insite. I have been writing letters, calling and trying to corner the reps at the major farm shows in attempts to get their attention on advertising and marketing. It seems as if, like you say, AGCO has superb products and engineering, but nobody knows it. Recently, they have been hiring outside ad agencys to spruce up their new tractor literature with some success. The new brochures look a lot better that the old ones. I just received the new RT mid range tractor brochure and it is the best yet, I think you will like it. John Deere clearly has the best marketing machine in the business. You cannot even go in a local grocery store here in Nebraska and not have an opportunity to buy JD dishes and cups, let alone JD baby bibs, blankets and napkins etc. I, along with some of our local dealers have tried vainly to get AGCO to do some of these things, with little AGCO interest. A company called Distel Grain makes JD and Case mail boxes. I have called them requesting AGCO orange mail boxes and was told that AGCO's marketing people are most difficult to deal with. I hope that AGCO is not afraid of the extra business that a little marketing savvy would bring. I remain convinced that AGCO hires their marketing people from the bottom 50% of the graduating class. Keep pushing!

WOW for years I been thinking that the Allis and AGCO products are better as everyone else has been saying they have been doing a terrible job of getting the word out. Their adds, old web site, and booths at the farms shows are terrible not to mention how they distribute literature what a joke. It would serve the company alot better to spent some money advertising instead of using it to gobble some other companies up. They would be better off trying to sell what they make now. To be honest if we where not previous Gleaner owners and have had a decent experience our R52 probably would have been red instead. look at Deere there combines are so bad they are scary but look at the market share they have. Marketing can do more to sell a product than the product itself at times.
