Combines Gleaner black smoke

I can remember the McKinnons coming to our pull in our town in the 70's and Bennys brother had a D21 painted black. What were those guys from down in Indiana that had the hot Case pullers back in the 70's I think they were from Wheatland IndianaIJ

I saw the McKinnons pull from 1969 up until Bennie retired and sold his "Old Faithful" D-21 several years ago.He came to the MO state fair pull every year.I believe Herb McKinnon pulled the black D-21 called "The Polecat".In 1969 I went to the McKinnons hometown pull at Pleasant Hill,Ill.They must have had half the tractors there including AC's,IH's,JD's,and even a hotrod tractor or two.I remember Barns McKinnon pulling a 1206 IH called "The Redbone Coonskinner".As for the hot Cases in Indiana I remember Dale lowe pulling several and a Sonny KixmillerIJIts been too many years agops I guess this is a combine forum.

Our 860 smoked like crazy run fine even had it checked buy dealer said everything fine.Dont notice Gleaners smoking because theres none around here

I have 2 Gleaner diesels. I have never seen any black smoke from the F. The K2 can be seen from at least a mile away. It really rolls smoke. It has to be overfueled.

The Series 3 was fixed all the way through, my N6 is one and is as clean as they come. This was accomplished by the Bosch system. The Series 3 combines and the 8000 and 4W series tractors with the 670(aka 426cid)got equipped with the AMBAC system and the overfueling was gone to get the same HP. And the RPM's on the N6s3, 8070, and 4W220 were all slowed down for the same HP as the previous models, the N6, 7080 and 7580. The neighbors had an N6 and it was the locomotive but was not the AMBAC system. So the turbo didn't make a difference to the N6, just fueling and advance of the pump.
