We have an allis pickup like that on our dummy head. Used it for the first time this year. What do you think of itIJ Seemed to work ok, but I think a Melroe is a little better. Heard there weren't many of them around anymore.Great pictures. rrhead

Well, we had a melroe on our previous pickup and liked it. This pickup seems to pickup a lot of small stones if you lay it too flat. Also picks a lot of green material in underseeded fields down flat. But... if the windrow is down low after lots of rain, I tell ya, she'll sweeps it up clean! Thanks for the nice words. I'm pretty proud of the 'ol girl. She's been good to us. Jamie

That Allis Chalmers pickup, is the same one that we have on our old retired A Model Gleaner, works good. Hard to find new drapers for it these days. We are now using an l2 with a melroe pickup on it, can't complain about it either. Nice photos! Nice to see the old workhorse still in fine condition.
