Exactly Tom! What are the internal differences in any Class 6 to Class 7 Gleaner rotaryIJ The 7 has more hp and a bigger grain tank! The rotor and shoe are identical in the 6 and 7 series from the N6_7 to the R65_75. Minor rotor changes have been made with P1 to P3. Mods make a big difference in both machines equally. A class 7 Gleaner rotary is a class 6 on steroids!

The fellas below that responded earlier are correct - if you want to make your 62's really hum, try the Hyper mods. Click the Hyper button there on the left of the screen for details. Also, as Ramrod suggested, your injection pump may need to be tweaked to get more torque. Seems more than a few of these Cummins are coming from the factory set to tractor specs (torque increases as rpm drops) and not to "combine" specs where you want all of the torque in the first 150 rpm drop or so. Our R52 did the exact same thing as you guys are describing - very depressing running that Cummins at first compared to the Deutz R50 we had. Hyper guys pointed me in the right direction and now the 52 is unstoppable - rock solid. Don't even remember what the low rpm chirp sounds like anymore! I HIGHlY reccomend you guys send your pumps to him for recalibration. It WIll be the best $160 or so that you will ever spend on your combine. lee will make those 62's sing high notes and not use any more fuel than they are now. Do it!! Tom langan

IF you run many hillsides the 62 is the choice.The Deeres have a removable panel in the shoe to get the grain on hillsides. I run a 62 with a 8 row head,this fall in 230+ corn ran 4.5 mph up hill and sidehills with so little loss a bird would starve.(10-15% slope)

August, I know what your saying however 5.7 plus mph is not really that bad. With a set of extended cylinder bars, a couple helicals into the discharge, removal of crop divider, and two instead of four reversers and I bet it is a different machine. I'm sure 5.7 plus isn't that far out of line with other class 6 machines. Brian

I run an 82 N6 Hyper'd at 7+mph in 200+bpa corn without a sweat. The 6and7 only differ in hp and Grain tank capacity. Something had to be wrong with that 62. Area farmers own a 52 w_8-30 non Hyper'd at 6mph in 200bpa corn and the 52 has the smaller rotor and shoe. That 62 needs attention!

first off i would like to thank everyone for their input and comments i dont plan on keeping the 62, it was a rental that i only ran for about 18 hrs

Do you have to hyper the gleaners to get them worth a s--T. We have a 9600 and love it. Hardly ever causes any problems.

We had a n6 at one time a 1979 model not a combine around could touch its preformance the 1st 2 years but from then on we couldnt keep it running long enough to out cut a 6600.
