Just want to add another question that I have wondered about on MH combines. The closest I have ever been to one was seeing a picture on the front of Successful Farming or Farm Journal a few years back. I wondered if the tilting part on the front of the thresher housing could be utilized on a conventional machine to give it lateral tilt capabilities. Maybe you guys can throw that in while answering the above question. Gary D.

Yes, hillside machines will do corn. Feeding might be reduced just a tad over conventional but probably not a limiting factor. The hillside machine uses two feeder beaters, with the pivoting front similar to the lateral tilt only thicker. It was not available as variable speed drive the best I can remember. The throat used cables to pivot. Auto header height could be installed. Some of you guys could possibly take a couple of hhc modules and the throat off a salvage MH and the leveling valve and a little welding and imagination and ....M2 w_ lat tilt....
