How has the industry changed?

How has the industry changed over the years since you started? I grew up on a farm and I remember a time when farmers could grow one or two main crops or raise one or two types of livestock and it would be enough to support their family for a while. Fast-forward to today and it feels like we have to expand into different areas in order to make a living. It's no longer just about selling your fruit at a U-pick orchard, but about selling jams, jellies, and pies to go along with it. The industry is starting to become more like a boutique. You farm your land and you host a wedding in your barn. You have to hustle more today.

Let’s just say... life gets more complicated? People got more to choose. Not like back then when everything was very simple and people could easily get satisfied.

I agree Susanna, you can't just produce one product anymore. When our farm was in production we produced goat milk, eggs, wool, hay and various fruit and veggies. You have to diversify.
