After seeing what others are reporting we are fortunate.South central Illinois. We have timber soils.Good crops here are 40bu beansand150bu corn.I averaged 55 on beans and 197 on corn.(only farm 88A halfandhalf)Best of 58 beans and 203 corn.Talk at elevator line was 50-70 beans and 180-220 corn.Weird thing was poor ground outyeilded "good"ground.Heard this alot. Most got done before elevators got full and had to close.Several stubble beans waiting for dry weather.Rain moved in 12th Oct of and on. Had over 6in since. Most elevators have huge piles of corn on the ground-many not covered.I know now why I had trouble with excess grain in return.

You have to live close to me,because my story would be a mirror image of what you just told.I got done with my double crops yesterday.Best crops we have ever raised.Dad has farmed for 42 years and never seen one like this.He is retiring ,he will be 62 in May.He says I will probably not see another one like this. I never even got rained out while shelling all of my corn and cutting all of my beans this year, that is unheard of.Great year here alot to be thankful for. By the way I live about 30 miles south east of Effingham at Willow Hill. You dont live near louisville do youIJ Illinois Gleaner

Rolf, looks like a true El Nino to me. How about youIJ Australia turns dry and now California is getting a lot of rain. Exactly what happens in El Nino years. We started out the year dry, then truned wet during wheat harvest in July only to go 6 weeks without rain to dry up the fall crops. But, we have been surprised by how well our fall crops are so far.

Ditto. Have 100 acres of hailed then frozen beans yet to harvest. Down to the last field of corn. Prepaid gas is going to be a little short. I will have plenty of storage. I was on a little trip North and West on Friday. 4 to 5 inches of rain makes my harvest problems look like a walk in the park.

Corn here in Western NY is great what I've done is 175 to 200 bu. The only downside is it's still wet 25 to 30%. The last two weeks or so have been cloudy and damp so almost no beans have been done since then and it's getting late. Up here we could see snow any time now so I hope we get some good weather soon to get the crop in.

Forgot to say beans were too dry(10%) before I got to them last week of September and corn was 15.5-16.5 out of field first week of October. No storage here.Everything goes straight to the elevator.

Barker's if I have time to wait and can help the parts man look it up.Dittamore's if I need it now and have to count on parts man to get the right piece.Chris knows his stuff.I now have a F2 and the parts poeple know less and less about the old stuff.Ask Troy if he knows Steve Miller from Shelbyville.Tell him he's a "crackerhead"!
