looks like I'm the small guy on the block. We have 550 acres of 1_2 corn and 1_2 beans. We use a JD 9400 with a 20' 220 platform and a 6 row 30 inch 643 corn head here in north central Iowa.

We harvest around 4000 acres with a 98 R52 and a 99 R62 both with 6R30 corn heads and 20ft. 500 flex heads. We also rent another R62 and flex head to help with beans.

Why do you need to rent a combineIJ Does it get real wet there or do you like to get it done very fast. I would think two combines would handle 4000 acres being the size they are.

Gleaner K2 gas, 10' floater bar, 80 acres beans, 25 acres wheat, 5 acres barley, 10 acres oats. Beans usually run 40 bu. acre, small grains are in the 70-80 bu range. Most people would hire this much out, but there is nobody to hire in my part of the world, so I've got my own machine. 40 acres of corn is harvested with a picker and ear cribbed, not combined. The rest of what I do is hay in small squares. (I also bale all of the small grain straw).
