Sometimes we may find some of the tools and machinery starting to build up a layer of oxidation. Which is the most effective method? I have previously used plain old white vinegar.
We have had some luck with this method for getting rust off metal tools. Rinse the tool off with water. Shake off excess water, and then put baking soda on the rusty areas. Let the baking soda sit for an hour before you take a metal or steel wool brush to scrub the rust off. Rinse clean when you're finished.
This may sound a little crazy, but it does work. You can get rust off metal tools with a potato and dish soap. Cut a potato in half, and put dish soap on the open side. Scrub the tools with the soapy side of the potato, and watch the rust come off.
