How To Downshift A Semi

Do you know how to downshift a semi? I've got a 10-speed Eaton, and it's my first tandem axle truck. I can upshift just fine, but downshifting is turning out to be more complex. Do I use the clutch? Do I not use the clutch? What is the secret? Any suggestions are appreciated.
