Usually, the emphasis is mainly on tips like reading and complying with the user manual, dressing appropriately, adjusting equipment properly, and maintaining awareness among other things. However, it is advisable to train all operators and ensure that they know how to operate machinery well. This way, the chances of missing out on maintenance are lowered.

My farm is small enough that it's either me or my son running the equipment and if anything he's better at fixing than I am. Sometimes it's as simple as blowing things out with air and watching your gauges and most equipment will run strong for generations if you start with good quality.

I agree with you @FarmHand that at times, it is the simple things that matter. It gets more complicated if you have a lot of machinery with many farmhands operating them.

Yes, it is important to train anyone who operates a piece of equipment how to use that machinery safely, correctly and non-abusive.

The machinery and the worked will fare better when all are properly trained.
