Sounds like the float on the switch is getting heavy. Need to replace the plastic level switch in the hyd tank. Make sure when you are done that the arrow on the flat points up so the float it oriented correctly to the switch.

How do I get at this. Do I have to drain oilIJIJ Thanks for your help. Of course I think the worst all the time like hydrostat motor or a pump getting bad. I should think a little more positive sometimes.

Hello: I went back and reread you original post and believe that I may have been off track. Which hydraulic light comes on, I think there are two. One for hydraulic oil level and the other for hydraulic oil temperature. As previously stated the hyd level switch is located in the hyd tank somwhat lower than the sight glasses. You would need to drain oil to change this switch. It is blue in color if not painted over. You mention this happens when going up a hill or when pulling a header trailer. This would lead me to believe it is hydraulic temperature that is the problem. This snesor is located on the top of the hydro pump on the case drain line. This is also where you will find the hightest hydraulic temp. Does the machine noticeably slow down when a load is placed on the drive system. Does the machine have a two speed hydro with the 3rd gear lockout bypassed to allow higher road speeds. What is the hydro drive relief pressureIJ What oil are you usingIJ These questions need to get answered to determine what is happening. Sounds like you might need to call you dealer. My e-mail is: besthornb@bartonccc.edu if you have further questions.
