about 50% of all spreaders are installed bassackwards. Run you hand down the spreader arm on the lh side and as it turns CCW when viewed from top the arm as it fastens to the bottom should have the V or pinch point on the TRAIlING side. Spreader flaps (belt segments) should be as long as possible and front board not be bent forward. We have little problems with spreading 16-18' with stock set up. Nest year watch the straw and make sure it is not falling in front of the spinning belts.. Also make sure rpm is up to snuff. 1050-1100 Rpm at the fan shaft, high idle, no load.
