Hey now, I gotta ask. How did you go about finding someone with a combine like you were wanting and him wanting yours to do a tradeIJ If we could just get a way to get more farmer to farmer interaction we could cut that darn middleman out and save ourselves thousands over the years. I'm into saving money........I'm sure you guys are too.

He traded from a Deere 9510 to an R52, but (in his opinion, I don't mean to "start" anything here) the R52 was a marginal step down in capacity from his Deere. Hyperizing would have probably helped alleviate this but he was "head-strong" for another conventional, and our local Deere dealers wouldn't allow him much for his R52 on trade. I wanted a good 8-row combine and I, too, felt the R52 would probably fall short of this; - otherwise, I might of considered swapping machines (with a little cash involved).

My AGCO dealer put the whole deal together, but we didn't swap combines. I traded a "like new" 9650 Walker on a new R62, another farmer traded his "like new" R52 for my traded Deere, and the AGCO dealer "presold" the used R52 to a dairy farmer about 12 miles from my place. What started this whole process was the dairy farmer approaching the AGCO dealer, looking for a late model R42 or R52. The AGCO dealer knew he had a dissatisfied customer who owned an R52 and who wanted a Deere, and the dealer also knew that he had a Deere customer who also owned a C62 and would consider an R62 if the deal was right. Very, very good business on everyone's part.

Any suggestions, Tom! I'm sure you could come up with something witty, yet appropriate! ;-)
