Combines Kansas Wheat cutting 9600 owners

Not counting last year (8 bushel wheat from 1 inch of rain in 15 months) we never started before noon that I can ever remember. I always heard you guys down there start so early and go late. Thats why in the combine brochures they talk about tough conditions, and tough straw. Welcome to the club

In most years where we are down to 12 percent humidity or less it's nothing to start before 10 in the morning and run clear till midnight. I've ran as late as 2 in the morning but I was having a hard time keeping from slumping over the wheel if you get my drift. Here lately we have 60 something percent humidity in the morning and it will get down to the high 40's in the afternoon and then by 10 o'clock pm again (CST) it's back in the 60's percent range again. The straw is like rubber since the air is so damp.

Yah, it sucks...one year our combines got so doggy, the came and sampled our fuel, switched fuel filters, checked our throttle cable and all sorts of things cause the machines were just pathetic on power. It was just super humid out...
