Mailman, I can't agree more. Place one joke here about only one particular type of a John Deere combine [still being far from a sweeping generality] and a J.D. fanatic gets so offended, he has to bash the whole family of a rival make. That is pure nonsense! I've seen enough of the John Deere rotary [er...'STS'] to know they are outstanding combines. I really do love them as much as any, but that's not going to prevent my teasing about their funny initials; especially when the parent company still refuses to eat crow and just come on out and call them ROTARY combines! In fact, I am quite irked by that, but that is the company-not the combine-saying that. Deere4life really needs to lighten up. I'm not criticizing his choice of combines. Deere did not get to be Numero Uno by falling flat on its face or butchering farmers' crops, but one has to understand, that when you're in the front row, you also have to bear the brunt of the crowd. Gleaners are NOT junk. They never have been, nor ever will be. Historically, they pre-date John Deere's combines by 4 years. So go ahead, throw us a few "silver seeder" or such jokes, but don't go slam the silver combines by calling them junk. They are NOT!
