Kohler Engine Dies When Hot

My John Deere mower's Kohler engine dies when hot. It works amazingly - when it works. But when it gets too hot, I have to walk away and let it cool down before I can finish mowing. Is there any way to prevent this? I'm never getting a Kohler again.

Have you clean the air filter lately?

A bad ign. coil will do that. The next time it does that check it for spark

When is the last time you changed the oil and did a tune up? It sounds like it could be something as easy as a filter, only because it works fine when it cools down. I'd start with a basic tune up and go from there. Keep us posted.
