Combines l 3

Could be a good deal if it's all they're telling you it is. My advice is to go look yourself. If you look the machine over youself and buy it, you've got no gripe. If you purchase sight unseen, you could be sadly disappointed. The price is right for the right machine. I've seen some pretty good l3's sell in $18,000 range in Oklahoma and Kansas, might not hurt to shop around or make some auctions.

They were made in 1986. I don't know how many were made.

1987 was the last year for the l3. Starting serial number was 34701. There were a few 1988 l3_M3 Grain with a starting number of 69801. It might be a l4 that was made in Mexico. Does it have a two piece front windowIJ

No, the windshield is one piece just like all of the l3s but I know where the serial number is. It says Mexicana S.A. I thought maybe it was built with american built parts but assembled in Mexico.

If it has a factory Cummins engine in it, would mean it is an l4, if not l3, last year being 1987. l4's were built in Mexico 1990 and 1991 and about 1600 units according to postings on this site about a year ago. My dad worked at the Independence Mo plant thru 1986 and never new them to build any combines anywhere else during his time with them(sometimes has his head in the sand). Serial number should be on the ladder side of the machine right under the engine.

lKS325H89 is the serial number off the ladder side below the engine. Also has Mexicana S.C on serial number tag. Its markings are all l-3. I'm not sure of the engine but it looks different from the l-2 659 TI.
