I just learned that I bought the same PlayStation game as his other grandmother. I hate to give him money because it seems so unthoughtful. What else can I give him? I can't believe I'm down to the wire on this.

You could get him a Leatherman multi-tool. If you wind up giving money you could make it special by folding it into an origami piece. Or freeze the money in a thick block of ice. I would've gotten a kick out of that as a teen.

How about a set of starter tools. I would have killed for that when I was a kid. My father always had no problem with me using his tools, but I would have loved having my own.

Thanks so much! I think I'm going to freeze some money and add some starter tools with it. If he doesn't like the tools (he should) he can always use the money to buy what he wants. Thank you both for the help!
