Sounds to me like the leaves are being sucked into the fan somehow. I would check the screens for gaps if you haven't already. Pete Hinrichsen

I had the same problem with my R72 some years in wheat. I removed the very back row of fins from the chaffer. That made enough room for any leaves that got sucked in to get blown out. Haven't had to stop and clean the leaf buildup for two years now. Ed in MT

Take the last row out of your chaffer and your problem will be solved.

Thanks guys..........that does make sense. I bent the last row up all the way and it stopped some but not all, completly out I can see where the stuff would blow out. Thanks again

I got in with a small hacksaw blade and cut the wires that the back fins attach to. That left the whole area open. Ed in MT

Had the same problem with my R65. The cause of the problem is that you probably don't have a screen underneath the hydro, therefore allowing leaves to enter into the fan. Seem as though AGCO was trying to cut cost. My dealer told me about removing the last row in the chaffer. However I felt that was a band-aid approach. Made them give me the same screen that the 62s have there, never had a problem since (keeping the last row in).

New chaffers from Gleaner have rear row of teeth removed to prevent this build-up.Gleaner says no to the R62 screen.Potential for fire with in-board brake drums.Had a fire in a R62 due to a parking brake seizing in 1996.10,000.00 repair bill.JMW.

Rained me out today, talked it over with my son and he thought about that also. Hack saw blade will be taken to it in the morning.

last I heard the corn guys will get bottom mount screens back. Don't know if they will be designed a bit different than R62-72 to address the inboard steering and park brake combo used on the 65-75s. Someone is surely going to drive with park brake and buzzer on when they hadn't cleaned out the area for years. We'll see what they come with shortly, I think!!
