There are a few vegetable seeds that I have saved up from the garden in addition to some quality seeds that I purchased recently. How best can I store them in good condition for the long-term?
It is best to start with dry seeds and if you've saved them yourself, always ensure that they're dry before storing. The containers also need to be airtight, and they can be metal, glass, or plastic.
It somewhat depends on the seeds, but for the most part you should store them away from the sunlight, in a dry container, and in a cool place. The basement is great for storing seeds. I've read that you shouldn't use paper envelopes, but I do it all the time and have never had any problems.
