My trick to quail snacks

I got so many great tips from @RichZ and @Birdie that I want to share one that I've learned. Right off the bat, I'll admit that it's not for the squeamish, but I use circular lights to lure bugs into my aviary. They run on a battery, and they get bright but not hot. I don't turn them on every evening, but the birds love it when I do. I figure it helps them get some exercise, and it gives them some extra protein in their diet. That's my trick to getting free quail snacks.

Nice one. I've seen moths and such gather by the porch light at night, so I can see how that would work. Maybe the extra light means you'll get a few more eggs too.

I love this idea! I like feeding my animals as natural of a diet as possible. I'll have to try this for sure. Is there a specific light you've found works well @OhSusanna ?

That is a fantastic idea. I'm sure the birds love it too. I never really thought of luring them by using a light. Thanks for sharing your tip.
