Name that plant

This is driving me crazy. I've googled everything I can think of, but I still can't find the name of the plant. Its flowers were as big as dinner plates. They were a bright fuchsia color. I saw it from the road, so I didn't get a look at the leaves. There were several flowers on the plant. It looked like a tropical plant, but I don't live in a tropical area. It wasn't a rose. I'd like to have one if I could just find its name.

Look up the hibiscus plant. There are several different varieties, some of which are more commonly grown than others. That seems like such an obvious choice, though, and surely you'd be able to recognize a hibiscus plant, but maybe not if it was one of the more exotic types.

I doubt it was a hibiscus. The flowers were the same bright magenta color, and it appeared to be a bushy plant, but it was different from anything I've seen before.

I think it could be a tree peony.

I don't mind at all, Almost Eden. I think it's sweet of you to include me.

@GrowPro, it could be a blood lily. Yes, they're bulbs, but when you have several of them together, they look like a bush. It could also be wisteria, which is beautiful, but also on the invasive list in many states. A few of those have magenta/fuchsia colored flowers. You could always stop and ask the owners. I've had that happen and have been happy to name my plants, so they could get their own. I've even given away some free cuttings, seeds, and mature plants after chatting with another plant enthusiast.

I decided to take your advice. When I pulled into the drive, I finally noticed that the flowers are fake. Apparently she sells fantasy followers on Etsy. No wonder they looked so exotic. I'm still feeling a bit sheepish. They looked real from the road, though.

I have these big and beautiful flowers in my yard. I call them dinner plate hibiscus flowers. My friend had some years ago and she needed to thin them out. She gave me 4 or 5 bulbs. They are gorgeous! Could it have been these?

Oh! Fake! That's crazy. I have seen many Fake flowers that looked real too. My mom wanted to put fake flowers in her beds this year. She felt like she was getting too old to work in the beds. Needless to say my wife and children go and work in her beds of real flowers with her.
