I hear ya loud and clear Harvester! Ilnh and myself spent about 45 minutes looking at the CR plus having one of the NH's guys telling us all about why changes where made and such. He was a good sport though as I countered him on every explanation and he only gave me a few looksIJ Intersting enough, he told us first off they where just beefing up the '99 to make a bigger, stronger machine. But they stopped and went the route of the CR_CXIJ I figured this was about the time that CIH and NH mergedIJ He also told that they brought in owners of all makes to get their input on what they would like to see on the new machineIJ No wonder the CR is the size of a Deere now , ehIJ And yes, as a loyal TR owner I felt that slap in the face! I don't doubt the machine will perform, that's not what is at issue with me on this change. My major issue with the change is that they followed the other's instead of staying on the avenue that the TR pavedIJ He even told us, the only thing that a CR has in common with a TR is 2 rotorsIJ In other words, a complete overhaul was made to their combine platform and an un-proven one at that! like I told Ihnh, the day of a high capacity_compact machine with few moving parts is GONE!!!!! We now venture into the future of overly large combinesIJ Man I wish that Bi-Rotor machine would have gotten to market, I think we would not be seeing all this weight and size if it had ofIJ [comments welcomed]IJIJIJIJIJIJ Do you know if there is much difference in the pricing of a Challenger versus MF rotaryIJ I looked at them both rather well. I still don't like them as much as a TR, butIJ I do like the Cat motor over the Cummins and the yellow one has a variable fan where the red one was 2 speed. Thxs, JD
