Combines No more walker corn combines

If Deere is bringing the WTS combine from Europe to North America, is there any reason why it couldn't be used in cornIJ From what I can tell, the WTS is the same as the 9660 walker except that it has that rotating drum above the straw walkers. If they make square hole walkers and cylinder closure plates as options, wouldn't they work just fine in cornIJ

He did not say it would outcut it, he just said it was an awesome machin and i agree, btw we were runin 5.5 to 6.5 with an 893 in 230+ corn with a 9600 and was not full.

I am not trying to put down 9600's because they are a rock solid machine. We have an '89 9500 with a very low serial number that we run in wheat and beans. That machine has been worn out more than once but still out cleans the 9650 walkers or sts machines in wheat. All I'm trying to say is that a 9600 will in no way compare to an STS. The only reason we didn't run any faster was because there was too much pressure on the head and the trucks couldn't keep up. Getting a 635 to put on her next fall. Hopefully be able to run faster than 3.5-4 miles an hour. At those speeds with a 930, the combine wasn't even full.

I did run a 9650 walker and STS in 230bu corn with 12 row heads. They do run the same speed, if the STS is not chipped. The limit on the 9600 is the clean grain elevator.

At the husker harvest show last year, one could really compare the combines. luckily the guy who demoed the gehringhoff head used a 9600. Therefore there was a walker on the show. looking behind the combines I found the loss to be pretty much the same behind all machines (no choppers no spreaders on the show). But the 9600 was the only one leaving the cobs in one piece. The sample reflected this. The 9600 had by far the least amount of cob pieces in the sample, looking into the grain carts. All others had a fair amount of cobs, with the lexion being well above the others.

Yea we were afriad to run the 893 any faster than we were so that and trucks were our limiting factor also!!

Deere is coming out with the WTS possibly next year. Atleast that is what I have been told by a couple of dealers.
