It also has a glass enclosed cab, the ladder goes straight into the cab, 2 lids covering the engine the top one flat and the front one is curved, and an electric fuel pump
Sounds like a 300 Massey combine. We have one that we use to cut small patches of beans for some of the neighbors. At the auto parts store, ask for tune-up parts for a slant 6 Chrysler.
What you have is a Massey 300 combine. The engine parts you need can be purchased at any auto parts store. Just ask for replacement parts for a Chrysler industrial 225 slant 6 motor. I don't know if they will need a year or not but if you would like to know the year of the machine email me the serial number of the combine and I can give you the information.
The MF300had the Chrysler 6 cylinder engine to the right of the cab, in an enclosed housing. The MF205 had the same engine, but it was behind the grain tank.
I really wish to thank HappyHank, whitecattlefarmer, and Boss Hog for explaining what my combine is. Now I can finally tune it up. Thanks again - russell_w6
the mf 300 and 225 chrysler engine had different kinds of distributors so you'll need to take a close look at who built the distributor before you order parts.
I still don't know what it is but I finally got the parts to tune it up. It seems to be an engine made in Canada between 1962 and 74. There isn't a place I can find that gets more specific. I still need to find the points setting and timing setting. I ordered the parts from NAPA and they match the old ones. I've searched for a photo that matches the combine but no luck yet. This thing came with the farm.
at the back of the combine, on the rhs, near the swing arm for the cleaning shoe, you'll find the serial n plate for the combine. it'll tell you the model and serial n of your machine. the engine will have a casting date in month, day and year cast into the block under the manifold behind the generator, behind the curved cover at the front of the combine.
