I don't see how you could run without it. It really takes a lot of guesswork out of setting and running on hillsides. I wouldn't consider not using it.

All the time! But with a well tuned Hyperized N6 it is hard to get it into the Green range, normally wants Faster_More and in corn it is limited to the head speed and how fast I can steer.

Speaking of the pacer .What settings do you set the pacer on IJIJIJIJ last night I was shelling corn and my pacer told me when my seives started filling up with wet shucks. But cant you get them to do what ever you want them to sayIJ I run mine on the most sensitive settings that it has.

Use it to keep an eye on chaffer and seive losses when doing corn. lets you know if you are grinding the cob and plugging the seive,causing chaffer loss. In beans or wheat, knife and feeding at the throat controls speed for me. Oh yeah, rocks too. ;^)

have never been able to get mine to work. you can set it on any setting on the dial and it never moves. I believe its better to get out and look on the ground once in a while to see what you are doing than to depend on it anyway.

Its amazing at how many operators I've met, don't know how the pacer or monitor , actually are supposed to work. Most people set them at 12.oclock, and think thats the way they should be. In reality.......you have to set your combine to what are "your" acceptable losses at a certain speed that you have your combine running at. Then you dial in your pacer to normal at this speed for that particular field. Every field changes.

I wouldn't have a machine without one. It is well worth the time to learn how to use it. Just like the other guy said set your combine then dial in the pacer. Stopping and checking the ground periodicaly is a must but that slows harvest progress. The pacer allows you to run consistant.I had a 92 R52 that it would not work in. It turned out that one of the spades in the plugin of the slower faster needle was bent and wasn't connecting.

I watch mine as it will help you set the machine and alert you to problems with your shoe such as plugging or running too much return. A properly set rotor will not have much loss. There has been several complaints that the Pacer isn't working. Most of these are resolved when the car keys are rattled on the pads and the Pacer needle moves indicating a working system and a no grain loss situation.

A person would have to be a complete nut to run a combine without one. My first Pacer was 22 years ago on an M2 and every combine since then has had one. Tom in MN
