Pasture grass not growing

I'm experimenting (all farming seems to be an experiment) with a couple small areas by running a tine harrow over the areas a couple passes then overseeding and run the tine harrow with the tines flat. One area I seeded last fall and the other 2/18 since we had a short dry spell. Our conservation specialist says it's best to seed in the fall about the time the rains come so the roots can get a good start over the winter. We don't have much, if any, snow or really cold weather. Some winters really wet, though.

I did something similar during a warm spell in January I believe it was. I ran a home made harrow over an area and made a nice seed bed. Spread some pasture mix and ran over again with the weight of the mower. I'll be interested to see how it does, although the horses have walked all over it and we've had a couple freezes since then so not sure if it'll heave. Oh and we've had a BUNCH of rain but I might get lucky.

Another thing I've taken to is when I feed hay I put small piles all over the pasture thinking surely some will germinate. So fingers crossed.
