We run some greene heads, as well as some minor stuff, Brushhog, silage wagon, etc. And I'll just say that parts for any of it is high. I haven't seen an instance where I though CaseIH was way out of line with deere on parts, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Parts prices can also be a dealer problem. chads

I've got a friend from Hungary who used to be in the army there way back when. He told me that the Russian trucks were like that to. Go anywhere, do anything, start everytime, heavy, cabs made of wood, never change oil, comfort though was nonexistent.

Hey MONDO go back and read the post. Somebody else said to not buy a walker and you asked why. I said there junk and you came off on me. And in this area I still feel this way a lot of walkers laying in trash piles. And the resale is bad and Deere would rather sell a rotery. Ask them I did, I should have made it clear I have only been around Deere and IH walkers and I did not want to get in to a war but I will not back down either. Good luck farming with what ever brand you choose. And I am looking at other brands thats why I have been talking with Deere and also Cat but I will give 8010 one more year to get it right. Just got back from farm show and thought Case really had poor showing no 8010 on display just 2377. Asked a rep about 8010 and said they were embarrased buy it but assured me it will be taken care of. So I am not color blind just want the best for my farm.

That's true, Chads, Sometimes, the dealer is THE source of high parts prices, but most often I've found CaseIH to be pricey compared to Deere, at least when it comes to legacy tractor parts. From what I've heard (and read through these forums) AGCO REAllY sticks it to farmers when it comes to parts prices for legacy products. I agree when you say that they're All pricey!

I don't know what you mean by "legacy" parts. By and large I'm just happy to be able to get parts for 40 year old stuff!! Needed a power steering line for a 460 the other day. Special fittings on both ends and about 19 bends. I was ready to get out the bender and the welder but decided to call our dealer instead. $138, available next day, and when we got it, it fit perfect, I didn't think that was too bad. Had a 1256 untill a couple years ago. Anything to do with the engine, injectors, crank, camshaft, was pricey, but all the rest of it was fine. I haven't priced any 2 banger deere or 20 series parts to compare, so I really wouldn't know about them. Don't currently have any AGCO, so can't really comment there either.

It's too bad for Case, with the 8010 and all. They are going to have a tough time to get customer confidence back. Hopefully they can get them worked out. I don't like to see anyone have any trouble, farming can be challenging enough with out things like that. Keep on the reps a$$ guys.

Hello Chads, When I refer to "legacy parts", I mean products that were built by EACH company prior to those company's merger. (Case 970, 2090, IH 966, 5088, etc.) I must say that those parts prices you quoted for your 560 didn't seem too bad, though. I was told by my neighbor that a dipstick for a Massey 750 Combine "lists" for somewhere around $200.00 (Canadian).

Ahhh, I tend to forget about the Case side of CaseIH;0). Parts prices there are pretty horrendous. The same repair for a Case vs an IH can be at least a third more. But, I think that's carryover from the old Case days, from what I hear. It was that way back in the early 90's, even, not that long after the merger. I've not really been shocked by any prices on stuff for our 66's, either. Chads
