Removing a splinter

I'd normally just use a needle to remove it, but I can't this time because it's located in my finger on my dominant hand. I tried using ole lefty, but wound up poking my palm. I'm a single gal, so I can't ask a partner to do it for me. How do I remove this dang thing? It's not terribly painful, but it's uncomfortable.

Have you already tried packaging tape? It tends to grip things well. Just stick a bit over the splinter and see if it adheres to it. If that doesn't work, add a thin layer of Neosporin and cover with a bandage. See if it works itself out overnight. I hope you're able to get it out soon! I imagine it's been a frustrating experience.

People have gone to the ER for less.

Do you have a co-worker that would help you out? Family member?

And have you tried pushing the opposite side of your finger from where the splinter went in? That might help push it out just enough so you can get a grip on it.
