I'm planning out planting for Spring sweet corn and what I can use to for planter and one-row cultivator. Attached is my tractors wheel spacing (which is not adjustable).

The distance between rear wheels is 31" and outside is 64", so two row planter rows adjustable from 14" to 36". However, I'm not using chemicals so will be cultivating. What I don't want to do obviously is run over my corn with the wheels when cultivating. Considering I'd have to straddle the corn with my tractor, what sort of spacing is optimal to work?
