Slugs and beetles

Anyone have a problem with either of these last season? We didn't see too many slugs but the beetles were crazy! I'm looking for a way to keep them out of the garden this season. What do you all do?

I assume you mean Japanese Beetles. I use Japanese Beetle traps. They're very effective.

I can't say I ever had that problem. Sounds nasty. Certain pests can be a regional thing from what I understand, so maybe that's why.
