Just from the research we have been doing with talking with a number of people, biodiesel is good for the diesel engines, no matter how old. As an example, I have a neighbor back home that has an early 80's chevy with the diesel and was about to get rid of it because the motor was getting old, but he starting putting the biodiesel in it and says it runs better now than it did when it was new. With the older engine, when you start using the biodiesel, you may encounter that your filters will plug and have to change them a couple times. The biodiesel is cleaner burning and can have the tendency to clean the fuel system, resulting in all that crap getting plugged in the filters. That has been the only problem with biodiesel I've heard about, along with it possibly gelling up easier in the winter compared to regular. Hope that helps.
