IG, You are most likely correct; - nothing beats good ole' fashioned free enterprise and competition, and as long as there are equipment floats on the road, Deere will have competition from within thier dealer network. The way I see it, Deere's forced consolidation can only spell good news for it's competitors. AGCO and CaseIH should be dancing in the streets! We're "mostly green', not "all green" and we used to have a lot more "orange" around here; - if we get a better AGCO dealer in the area we just might start going back that way! In the meantime, we haven't many choices where I live!

Why would Case be dancing in the streetsIJ Dealer consolidation is not just a "Deere" thing. My local Case dealer owns 7 dealers. Five years ago they had just 2. Bad part is they are @n$holes to deal with. I know sales people who have gone to work for the JD dealers just because they didn't like the new owner's attitude. And we just lost our closest Agco dealer which was 80 miles away.

80 miles is right in your backyard isn't itIJ lots of areas in western SD would like to have a dealer so close.
