Combines STS combines

I have not seen many comments on this page from operations that have purchased the STS machines. Most of the opinions previously voiced here are from those who have only demoed, or briefly tried, or had a neighbor use one. I'm certainly not a large operator, just have two machines, but I am extremely pleased with mine. I personally have sat in my 9750 for over 400 hours in the grain, and have just started corn this week. Other than a glitch with the center belt on the draper table, I have had no downtime. My sample is consistently superior to my 96's which I never thought possible, and I am consistently 1 to 1 1_2 mph faster than the 2388's, and 1_4 mph faster than a 460 cutting with me. This machine is not the answer to everything, but I have owned red and yellow, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

Arkansas Traveler: Just REMEMBER: A 9750 has 35 more HP than the 2388s 290 HP, so thats why the STS can go a bit faster. It is a whole different story when comparing the 9650 sts to the 2388. Because I have ran side by side with several 9650 sts' for over 100 hours of operation in several different grains with my 2388s. My 2388s outform the 9650sts time and again. The sample between those two were very identical, with the axial flow having the edge. I was able to keep up a 9750 in most conditions. Just saying that you and the rest shouldn't compare the 2388 to a 9750, but a 9650. I am going to stick with the 2388's because my dealer is very superior, and felt no need to move over to the 9750 for now.

I do not own a 9650 sts but I would be one of the guys who demoed one. Our dealer brought one over straight out of the box you could say, and we found it very easy to set. We tried it cutting soybeans they had it equipped with a 30ft platform

I hope your harvest goes smoothly. We are on hold in East Central Indiana due to a 2 inch rain on Thursday. Hopefully we can get back out in the field in a day or so. We are only 10% harvested so far.

Funny thing! I've logged 110 rental hours on a 9650STS and worked consistently alongside my uncles 2388. I can no longer rent the STS because my uncle traded his (capacity inferior) 2388 on the rental STS I was operating. In corn, beans, barley, and wheat, the 2388 has never been able to match the STS's capacity, although both machines produced equally clean samples. To say that horsepower is the only limiting factor is not right, since Deere's rotor is slightly larger in diameter than the CaseIH.

We demoed a 9750 STS last season and it is really amazing what it will do. I don't have any experience in corn or soybeans, but in 6000 lbs._per acre + milo with a 36 ft. draper head taking 14 rows I ran at 7 mph. I was not extremely impressed with the grain quality that it was producing, but it was not set up with the right concave set up. The dealer told us that the concave for corn. I am currently in school with a guy whose dad runs two in irrigated corn and he has told me that they are extremly impressed in comparison to there old 2388 Case IH!!!!!!!!!!
