I agree on the hydro handle. I like the tried and proven design which only has the header height control on the side which you can toggle with your thumb. The best part is it's simple.

I'd like to see them change the outer looks of the cab. The 800 header has the potentiometer on it. Ditto for the hydro handle. I'd like to see a different material used for the steering column. The vinyl type plastic used now seems cheap to me. Some type of wrap like dash boards have would look nice. And more padding on the floor and between grain bin and cab would be nice.

Yes Tom I agree. You are coming dangerously close to losing it--again. My wish list would include a thermostatically controlled heater_AC. Maybe you guys in southern climates dont have to adjust heaters all the time, but it seems I play with the heater controls more than I do the rest of the combine. Tom Russell

Tom, After thinking about it for a while I came up with a couple of other items that I would buy. 1) An onboard air compressor for blowing off windows and for doing field repairs, although Gleaners seldom need field repairs.

Yup, that's the way the hydro handles are on Hawk Series and up - thumb controls header, below that switch is one for reel height_corn head speed, and pinkie controls auger on_off. Deere and CIH both have a joystick with several buttons that face to the cab rear - header, reel height_fore and aft, etc. It would be WAY too easy to push the wrong button by mistake. Also, your hand doesn't rest ON the handle like Gleaner's, you more or less have to "grip" the handle. I've never run one so maybe it's not as bad as I think it would be but I really like the simple handle we have now. Also would like to see an electric ladder lift that would raise_lower with just a tap of the switch rather than having to hold the button. Tom langan Joke of the day:

I have a '87 Toyota Camry with the auto tranny. I've found the tranny lever to be particularly comfortable. No abrupt edges like on the N6 hydro handle. If I had a way to put the raise_lower switch it in, I'd probably grab a couple of the Camry handles and use they as hydro handles.

Could not agree with you more on the ac_heater control Tom!!!!! Were lucky, we don't have to wait till it's below 0 degrees C to harvest anything!!!

Tom, I agree with your idea on the electric ladder lift control. I would like to push it and forget it like the unloader tube in_out. Tom Russell
