Sounds like you really have her dialed in nicely. One question though - why are you running the two filler stripsIJ Thanks, Tom langan

Wish I could - but have not gotten into the digital photo stuff yet.

Until this fall, I always had 3 front filler strips in, but took one out to seperate sooner. It gave us a better soybean sample - less cracks- if used with moderate rotor speed. Maybe more grain on grain threshingIJ In corn, I think it helps to have near all shelled off at start of the concave so seperation starts on all the grain on the third slot of concave(this is important with the fast helicals),and to reduce kernel damage. Have essentially zero losses out the rotor or over shoe.

Hey RamRod, How did you make your bin extensions on your combine. I'd like to have that on our R62. Thanks, MF 9790

Good job RamRod. Just a couple questions. Do you use any reverse cylinder barsIJ Do you have any retarders or rasps fastened to cage material seperator grateIJ Do you use the rolled back discharge paddles and or what position on the SunnyIJ Thanks and take care

Doug: The final drive houseing is the same. Just different gear ratio's. Hope you checked out parts availability before buying the Cat. Just broke the alternator belt on my MT55. Happened on Friday after 5:30 , found out they do not and never had any belts for these things in Marshal. Had to wait for them to take one off a new machine on Monday. Got billed $408 for taking it off and trip out to see why it broke. Air cond still don't work after 2 years and was told it will have to be hauled in again after harvest to work on.

O0p's, forgot you had a 97 with 5 bolt finals, Yes the 98 or newer will be heavier. Conditions here have turned miserable. It's so wet that we have to turn around everywhere. On 160 I was on yesterday there was no where I could go straight thru. That field also got frosted in August pretty bad. Ears are half length and yield only about 125. Good luck and happy harvesting. Catch you after harvest some time.

Yea, that last big system probably hit you dead on - not what is needed now! Best of luck. I suppose we will have our times with CAT as well. later.

Dan, By rights, this setup should have diarrea, but works great in my view. There is nothing to slow, reverse, etc. period. If not kept somewhat full, I get slight bit of corn kernels out with straw, otherwise nothing at all. My varieties are picking clean however, if that would make any difference I don't know. The ideal would be to have the thresher side with fast pitch helicals, and sep with regular ones as you have done. That would be my plan for a new machine. How are those machines doingIJ The discharge is the bent back paddle in the outer, lower position.
