Kurt, With the adjustable sep. grate we swing the front down and remove wires from up in the hopper. Remove the bolt or bolts from thresher concave pivot pin and trap door pin so you can swing sep. grate open max amount. Spacer bushing that front of sep. grate pivots on is slightly countersunk into frame so you need to pry it out a bit before grate will swing open. Hope that helps. Dan
