I keep hearing that it's easy to cultivate mushrooms, but I've yet to pull it off. What's the trick here? I know my spores came from a reputable dealer, but I ended up with very few mushrooms.
Some varieties are easy to grow and some aren't. If you had bad luck growing mushrooms outside, then try growing oyster mushrooms indoors on used coffee grounds or a bag of sawdust. In my opinion, oyster mushrooms are the easiest to get going.
Damp, dark and warm is the environment I have heard is the most conducive to growing mushrooms. I had a friend in Missouri decades ago who did this and was quite the green thumb.
