Combines Thinking of switching to Deere

A mate of mine used to stand on a 20 litre can and pound ants as they came out of an ant hole. Reckons he was allways amazed that no matter how many he pounded more kept pourin outa the hole. (a message that George Dubya outa learn perhaps)

drove down the road the other day seen a gleaner running. the next time i went by there he had fenced in the whole thing with one stand of wire and turned some of the wildest cows i have ever seen in it. Must have lost quit a bit because they seemed very content. Especially since it was beside a major hyway.

how about the only point being the type of operater over ther type of combine, because all machines who have the proper operator will do an excellent job....

cutter2388, I agree with that, but some combine's seem to be easy to set right and other's take more time and are less forgiving to changing crop condtions. Just my $.02. IlNH

Cattle will eat stalks so your story doesn't hold water. Birds are only after the grain, and they certainly favor fields harvested by Deeres. It would seem the birds know something you just can't seem to tell a Deere owner.

You seen "some of the wildest cows you have ever seen", yet, they "seemed very content"IJ If they were content, why did you think they were wildIJ Did they have a funny look in their eyes or somethingIJ Were they wearing punk hairdoo's or mohawksIJ Did they appear to be thinking - "If my belly wasn't so full of corn fodder, I'd run right through that barbed wire and attack that fool wearing nothing but green underwear!"IJ Please enlighten us~! BTW, there are a lot of guys who run cattle on corn stalks in the fall. Cattle won't mess with trying to pick up lost grain behind a combine - maybe they'll much on a lost ear here or there, but for the most part, they eat the fodder. Tom langan

Tom,I was wondering the same thing about how he knew they was wild.I guess owners of wild cows always put up single strand hot wires.Sounds like another wild deere tale.The real problem with the deere combine,besides all those moving parts,is most owners are too busy bragging about owning a green machine to get out and make adjustments.

"Birds are only after the grain, and they certainly favor fields harvested by Deeres." Is this a true statistic and, if so, how many birds did you poll to attain these "stats". In my region, you'll find birds enjoying the waste from fields harvested by Deere, Gleaner, or any colour. I realize that Deere gets slammed a lot more than the other colours out here; - I guess that's the casuality of being number 1 in sales. By the way, I still own a Gleaner, and I like this combine as well!
