Hey, if you don't like it, well then that's tough. If you really don't like it, then why don't you move to America.

what's happening to you happened to the typical US family farmer over the last 25 years. SCREWED out of business by policies adopted by our government. the sad,unfair part about that was our government officials and lawmakers only listened to the grain exporters,fertilizer makers,seed growers and pesticide manufactuers_distibuters. or if you want to wrap it all up in one tidy little rats nest------- the American Farm Bureau better get used to it because no body can screw,lie and cheat better than these guys !

Gunner, This is one of those matters that has always puzzled me. Before I continue, I want you to understand that I am speaking purely as an American farmer, and addressing this from my selfish point of view. I truly believe that for me the root of the problem facing the American Farmer is in your message, but it isn't the 4% duty. The problem facing the American Farmer is the fact that even though the US could produce enough wheat for the Americas (North and South),Europe and Africa if we used all the available land (putting the CRP and other acres back into production),we allow the ***import*** of wheat. likewise we allow imports of Beef, Pork, Poultry, lamb, Soy, Corn, etc, etc and in each of these cases we already produce more than we (the US) needs. Now, as for the world markets, I believe that there are two problems. 1) As a world-wide whole, farmers simply over-produce for the current world distribution system. Yes I know that there is famine and hunger, but it is usually at the hands of political and distribution root causes. It sure isn't because we can't produce the food, 2) The number of countries that export-subsidize their products to depress world prices. As I am sure you know, many markets are off-limits to both your products and mine. Then, that country places their products on the world market at a price below what they purchased it for internally. This depresses the value of our product while protecting their farmers. Of course this is just one man's view, and I could be wrong! Chuck

As long as you have the GOVERNMENTS involved, it will AlWAYS be unfair. Politicians in their "I want to control it all" wrath, will ultimately destroy our countries. Our countries will finally collapse like the Roman Empire and the Soviet Union. Unless the voting people would wake up and elect real man into office, who have morals and understand and obey the original constitution.

You no If I was you I would try to get the canadian government to start a farm progrm up there. And that way you could quit complaining about ours. cause our prices are on the poverty level. Why don't you ever say any thing about europe they are sudsized a hell of alot higher (on grain around 63% and some run as high as 140% on veg.)than the U.S.

I always think that the chemical issues are interesting. In other contries you can use better chemicals, and cheaper. We are not alowed to use these chemicals in the US. but when imported, no one has any problems bringing wheat into the US that has had who know what sprayed on it. Just like the persciption drugs and that laser eye surgery being 40% cheaper just across the border. How is the price of ag deisel up northIJ plenty of profits in oil companies the last couple of months!

Good point, everyone's always blasting the US because of the farm program but we never hear anyone complain about all the money the EU pays it's farmers in subsidys. And yes, the research I've seen shows the EU farmers are getting a lOT more money from the government than US farmers.
