I would think you would have a good chance of taking it home for around 45,000. I had a 94 model with the air diesel and it was a very good machine. Take a good look at the helical bars.If you can do most of the work yourself you can hyperize for 1500-2000. If you need cly. bars and helical already the cost between stock and hyperized is very low. Good luck on Saturday Tim

I personally would consider it a very valuable machine since it will not only harvest your crop it will also plant your next crop. Nothin' like those silver seeders.

I'm not trying to start another JD vs. Gleaner arguement here because I could see myself saying the same thing about JD. I just have to ask, have you ever drove a Gleaner, are you familar with how to set one upIJ I was looking at your name Deere4life, if you think deere is so superior then back yourself up don't just make rude comments. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but in Ontario, where I live there is only about three Gleaner dealerships and about that many silver combines. So the answer is no I've never had the pleasure to drive a Gleaner. The dealer support is very poor. We run a 9600 and 9650 STS and they do their jobs very well. I'm just used to seeing the smaller guys with their old gleaners going 2 mph and all the guys making fun of gleaners. It's what I was brought up in. I'm sure they are good machines, but the real reason I've never driven one is I've never wanted to and probably never will. Maybe I'm missing something special

I own a M2 and it will at least keep up with a JD 6620. Proir to that we used an old C2 that anything the same age or newer then it could run circles around it. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that Gleaner has come along way over the years, and even though I have never drove one of their N or R series machines I think that they would give your 9600 a run for its money. I got a question for you. What size corn head do you use if any and how fast can you move with itIJ Just curious, Curt I also included photos if your interested, this machine has almost every option, and is moving at 3 mph with a 20ft head.

On our two machines we run 6 and 8 row heads. Our 9600 has the 6 row and we can run 6 to 6.5 mph in corn that is going 170 to 190 bushels an acre that has had hog manure applied to it. Our 9650 with the 8 row will generally run 5 to 6 mph,but we never really have pushed it. Both of them have next to no losses either. In the summer we also combine rye for tobbacco farmers and in that low yielding,lots of straw crop the two run the same speed with a 20 foot on the 9600 and a 25 on the STS. We push them to the fullest.

Mr. langon,those are some pretty tough words coming from a guy who likes combines that have the same cabs and many other things the same as Massey. I bet when you see some big Deere's running you get a little jealous, because when the Deere guys see gleaners going we just point and laugh. Your idea about melting my plastic is truely stupid since in 15 years, when Gleaner has the same tech. deere has today they might have some plastic on them,and my plastic deere will still look and run better. What Gleaners do you haveIJ tell me what you like about them and what you don't like about a Deere. Being out numbered 100:1 is hard to believe since I didn't think there were that many Gleaners around, let alone that the owners all know how to type. You red neckin' about moose crap is funny because in our area there is 8 3000 head sow barns going up and they all export to the states. So who depends on whoIJ Maybe you should have paid more attention in geography class. Our farms are the same as yours only we do it with QUAlITY machinery! I bet you were one of those kids in school that did what ever the crowd was doing. Be thankful that there is companies that offer choices or you would find the green combines even more expensive.
