Water Softener Discharge On Lawn

Will septic tank water softener discharge on the lawn eventually kill the grass?

Neighbors water softener discharges to the ground. Everything downstream is dead, grass, trees, bushes, everything.

Salt has no mercy.

I would imagine it would. Salt kills everything! I would try to have it discharge in a pile of rocks somewhere. Did you try it and if so did it kill the grass?
