What attracted you to this lifestyle?

It's a different way of life, that's for sure. What attracted you to this lifestyle? Is farming a family tradition or did something else hook you?

Farming can be a family tradition, but not everyone chooses this path. I grew up on a farm, but I developed a keen interest (after my teenage years) to learn as much as I could and change the food system (certain aspects of the foreign and agriculture policies).

My husband grew up in farming and I'm just learning. So far, I love it. I can't believe how much work it is but it is worth it. I'm going to raise our kids to work alongside us so they hopefully love it too.

It is outdoors and you have to be self-motivated. I like working with the earth too. And when the day is done, The Farmers Almanac is a good read.
