What to look for in an ATV/UTV?

What do you look for when it comes to buying an ATV or UTV? Does it basically come down to price and how much it can haul and pull?

Those characteristics do matter a lot, but you also need to pay attention to what type of terrain they're for and how much you'll have to pay to keep the thing running. I don't just mean gas, but regular maintenance also needs factored in. Things might've changed since I last bought an ATV eight years ago, but some models required monthly oil changes and others only needed done once or twice a year.

Price was one thing but we looked at many things. Could it tow things, what about a winch package. We also wanted to make sure we could plow with it. I wanted a standard versus an automatic, that was a bit harder to find. We ended up buying 2 Honda Foreman wheelers.
