Combines what would you change on an 850IJ

rockford I have never harvested flax but I bet it would do fine. When I had alfalfa seed it was real tough green vines that were 4 to 5 feet long. With two blades per paddel you did'nt have a chance. With four blades it stopped the wrapping completely. One year I tried to swath it, the swath turned into one big rope. I thing you could have parked the combine in the corner and harvested the whole field without moving.

If I were to do some redesign on the 850_860 series combine I would want the following: 1. 250 hp inline 6 cummins diesel minimum. 2. move the engine to the rear less heat and noise 3. Center the cab on the machine. The offset cab and header can be a real pain in the bum.Buddy seat would be nice too!!! No room for my kids. 4. Automatic cylinder reverser, instead of the big wrench. 5. Electronic setting for the cylinders ( like in the New Holland TX. Not much room to get in to wrench the turn buckles on my 860.
