When do fountains freeze?

I have a fountain full of koi fish. I'm in Georgia. Do you guys know about when decorative fountains begin to freeze over? I took these koi fish in as a favor to someone who got in over their head. They were supposed to be gone by now, so I'm totally unprepared to overwinter these guys. I will continue to care for them, but I'm getting a late start I suppose.

You might be able to overwinter them as is. Just check the water temp in the fountain to see. I used to have a friend who raised koi and he said they went into a torpid state which allowed to survive the winter.

Can you check with a local fish store. I would think that the water wouldn't freeze if it kept moving. How cold does it get in Georgia?

They would have already froze here. We empty our outside decorative ponds. We then cover them with plastic. I would check with a local pet store. They should know more.
