We use the Crary Gold n Cut. We have had the system for four years and have had minimal maintatinance in our very rocky terrain. You get the best of both worlds with the GNC. It has a mini point in the guard which acts as your double cut but you have the 3 inch section so that the feeding is better than the quick cut. I would recommend them their kit to anyone.

over the years we have used the double cut crary and oem type on our farm nothing works as good as the original style i'm sure these are all good cutters but you have to find the one that works best for you would like to try the sch but just bought a new 800 head with a U11 reel and will run this bar for a few years not all cutters work in all conditions that is a FACT! good luck Bob P.S. if anyone is interested in buying some crary spring loaded golden hold downs and guards e-mail me thanks also have some new belts for a l-2 thanks again

Basically the Massey reel. AGCO is really pushing it. We had it on our new 800 series head last fall. I can see it being a huge benefit in lodged beans, but I thought it created more shattering than the old AGCO reel in standing beans. I plan to play with it a little more this summer and see if I can help that. I didn't get much time last fall as they delivered it 3 days before we harvested.

I have had the SCH drive on my 30 ft rigid head for about 500 hrs. and the only parts needed have been the sickle head bearing.I am using the SCH sickle also and am satisified with it.
