    Overuse of equipment

I think overuse is really only fixable if you have another piece of equipment that could also perform the job - thus you'd be better off to spread it out between the machines. Or if you were using your machinery at the wrong time or were allowing it to overheat instead of taking a break to...

    Early tomato for commercial crop?

Which side of the tomato industry are you looking to enter - fresh market or processing? I guess I'm just wondering what brought this on. What led you to make the jump from flowers to tomatoes? I only ask because I'd hate to see you lose money. Don't tomatoes require a steady supply of water...

    Neighbor complained of rats

I'm with RichZ about bait and poison not being worth the trouble. Then you have to worry about goats, dogs, children, chickens, and other critters getting into it. Plus, if that rat eats some poison and gets in your walls or shed somewhere, it will stink up a storm as it rots.

    Compostable livestock mat

I haven't tried those mats, so I can't speak from experience. However, my best guess is that it's too cold right now to do much with compost. When it warms up the compost will start cooking more like it should.

    Mid-range skid-steer loaders

My neighbor and I shared one for a number of years. We got it used and didn't have much trouble with it, but we didn't use it hard either. It wasn't the smoothest ride, but the track held up just fine. My only real complaint is that it uses expensive synthetic lube. It should work fine for...

    Improving tomatillo outcome

It sounds like a pollination problem. You might need to attract more bees to your yard or you could try pollinating them yourself. There aren't as many varieties of the plant as you might think. It's not like the tomato which seemingly comes in endless options.

    Sanitation after ringworm

Fencing and grooming equipment might be the culprit here. Scrub everything you can with a detergent or pressure washer and then disinfect with diluted bleach.

    Carrot-fed beef

Was that a trend in big cities or something? This is the first time that I've heard of it, but I live in a rural area that is just now experimenting with alternatives to cows' milk. Maybe we're just behind the times.

Thinking of making predator detection system

Predators are always a concern. Do you know which camera system you're going to work with when building your app? I hope your app will be compatible with numerous systems.

    Starting a farming business

I farm for profit and I also grew up on a farm. I think the internet has made it much easier to get started today. I bet most new, modern farmers began their journey by googling.

Common Failure on Self-Propelled Sprayers and Combines

Have you checked with your local extension office? That might be a good place to start. If they don't have the information you need, they might be able to tell you where to get it.

    Proof Of Vaccination

That would never fly. We can't even get people to wear a mask! I think it's important to be realistic here. People could prove they were vaccinated the same way they do with other vaccines - their shot record. Even then it won't matter that much. There are all kinds of exemptions to protect...

    4-H or girl/boy scouts

I didn't realize that 4-H did all that. It looks like they've expanded quite a bit. @j_kraut, I remember that feeling! And it IS a big deal to make it that far when you're competing. My grandchild won a blue ribbon at the fair two years ago for her goat. She was tickled to death.

    Battery and elec zero-turn mower

I'm looking to get a zero-turn mower so I've been checking prices and features. Well I recently ran across this one. RYOBI 42 in. 100 Ah Battery Electric Riding Zero Turn Mower-RY48ZTR100 - The Home Depot They're claiming that one charge can handle three acres of mowing. What do you think...

Fiskars yard tools still made in USA?

I think they're made in the US or Finland, but to be honest, if I contacted a company and they wouldn't give me a direct answer, they'd lose my business.

    New Year's Eve food!

We didn't go anywhere. Folks around here don't do anything for New Year's Eve usually. Well, maybe they're all partying it up and just not inviting us? Hmmm...

    Money well spent

I bought an expensive (to me!) vacuum cleaner, and it was money well spent. We usually go for those cheapo models that get the job done, but offer little else. Well, I splurged on an Oreck vacuum cleaner, like they use in hotels, and it was worth every penny. It vacuums all floors. Hardwood...

    Automation

@SadAnt, I think we've gotten better at automating some things like feeding herds of livestock. The industry has definitely come a long way when it comes to using tech to monitor crops and livestock, so who knows what the future holds. It's amazing that you're thinking about this stuff, and...

    What is fair game/off limits?

From reading here it seems like lots of folks might not be willing to loan out machinery and other equipment. So what do you consider fair game (willing to loan or rent out) and off limits (not willing to loan out or rent out)? I think I've loaned just about everything I have once or twice...

    Golf cart battery

@More Green I'm assuming that the OP knows where to find a battery, but wants to know who sells them for a good price. Personally, I'd call whoever you bought it from and ask them about it. I bet they'll at least be able to tell you where to find an affordable battery.
