what are your typical corn yieldsIJ That 8-row corn head may be an issue, you might have a hard time keeping the machine at full capacity, if you can't keep it full grain quality and clean sample may suffer, 12-row is a much better match. Although with that 8-row you will be able to go as fast as you want.

We had two 8010's and traded for two 06 models. 06's are very improved over the 04's we had. Might not see the differences from the outside but they are there. We are one of the only farmers in our area that do edible beans and you need to have the right modules in or you will be cracking them. Another thing with the edibles that we did was we put two speed clean grain on to slow it down. I ran the slower clean grain in every crop on mine and it never had any issues of plugging. Farmers about 60 miles north we having major issues cracking there edibles but they were using a sun pick-up head where we were flexing ours. Dont know if it makes a difference but our cracks were less than 1.0 %.

When we harvest edible beans they use a picket and put 12 rows together and we pick them up with a sund attatchment we run 2388s and we have our splits to .5 our overall tare is almost always under 1 percent. I would think you would have alot of loss using a flex head as the edible beans pod right on the ground the shatter would be increadable

We cut with a macdon swather .Then pick up the swath with a sun pickup header.

Good luck with your new combine. Case has came along way on the machine since the 2003s were introduced! If you have any questions on setting it up ask. There are several guys on here that have had a lot of experience fine tuning them. We will be running two machines this year.Make sure you have the right modules in for what you are harvesting. We found the flex draper head to work very well in soybeans. Compareing it to 1020s and a Crary air head it done a lot nicer job.

As crude as it sounds, the most effective solution is to use some shoe box type cardboard and duct tape to shield the sun from the screen.

We love our 8010. This machine is awesome. The combine is very user friendly. We have a retired farmer help us. He is 80+ and does a fantastic job. Now from what I understand is that the '03 combine has a hotter engine than the '04. These are european engines and the '03 came from the factory above rated Hp. The '04s were set to the standard Hp. After '04 the engines are above rated Hp. Their have been a lot of updates and if I could swing it, I would go for the 05-06 combine because they would have the updates incorporated at the factory. Also the '03 machines are not in the extended warrantee program.
